Community Facilitation & Problem-Solving
Mission: Shaping Our Summit is a community organization whose mission is to
create and improve opportunities for citizen involvement and community
collaboration to enhance the long-term social, civic, environmental and
economic well-being of our entire community.

Philosophy: Underlying our services is a belief that
broad-based participation leads to more effective problem solving. Tapping the wealth of information, skills
and perspectives of citizens, and engaging them in finding solutions to the
problems that affect their everyday lives is a critical step in creating a
healthy and sustainable community.
Facilitators: Shaping Our Summit is a program of the Meridian Institute,
a nationally and internationally recognized organization that convenes and
facilitates multi-party, problem-solving and conflict resolution processes,
assists diverse parties in creative alliances, designs process which assist
organizations in achieving sustainable policies and durable decisions, and
advances the understanding of collaborative decision-making. Our facilitation and problem solving
services are provided by Meridian/Shaping our Summit staff and a skilled group
of trained volunteers.
