Local Non Profits
Locals List: A Guide to Volunteering
In Summit County
Thank you for you interest in the Local’s List, a list of organizations in Summit County that work to better our community, with the help of volunteers. You can find various organizations listed under categories of your interest. The Local’s List is provided to you by Shaping Our Summit, a non-profit organization that works to increase citizen involvement in Summit County, since we believe participation is key to a healthy community. If you are new to Summit County, or have lived here for a while, we urge you to consider volunteering for one of the many worthwhile organizations in our community.
Volunteering is a great way to:
· meet people and make new friends in Summit County;
· build your resume and gain marketable skills;
· get to know your community and its decision makers;
· explore different types of work and learn more about jobs that interest you.
Volunteering
is good for you, and for the community too. So think about putting yourself to work
for one of our many local non-profits.
Consider volunteering your time and participating in the decision
process that guides Summit County by attending local Planning Commission, Town
Council or Board of County Commissioners meetings.
